Home Remedies for Cracked Heels

Dry air, neglecting foot, improper care, lack in moisture, unhealthy diet, using harsh products and wearing wrong shoes are few reasons for rough and cracked heel.




Vaseline and Lemon Juice: Take 2 tbsp of lemon juice and mix it with 1 tbsp of Vaseline. Apply this paste on your clean and dry feet. Concentrate on affected areas and heels of your feet. Keep layering this paste until you’ve used the entire batch. Now wear clean socks and leave it over-night. Vaseline will treat your rough heel and dry areas while lemon juice will remove spots and remove dead skin.

Olive-Oil and Lemon Juice: Make your own hydrating cracked-heel cream by mixing one tbsp of olive oil and with one tbsp of lemon juice. Mix both of them and you will get a smooth milky solution. Apply this cream on affected area or on your entire leg and feet. This cream will prevent dryness and will remove dead skin which eventually prevents cracked heel.

Vegetable Oil: Apply a small amount of vegetable oil (olive oil, coconut oil etc) after bathing on your heels and soles. You will see results in few days and you’ll wake you with softer feet

Honey: Honey is the best moisturizing product. Mix one cup of honey in half bucket Luke-warm water. Now soak your feet in this mixture for around 20 minutes and relax. After soaking, scrub your feet gently and rinse off with plain water. You will notice soft and supple feet, repeat it 2-3 times a week to maintain the effects.

Rice flour: Rice flour is best exfoliating scrub you can make for your feet at home. Mix one tbsp of rice flour with 2 tbsp of honey and 1 tbsp of lemon juice. Mix the scrub well and scrub your feet gently for 10 minutes. If you have serious cracking then soak your feet in warm water for 15 minutes before scrubbing.

Sesame Oil: Sesame oil is very good for rough and cracked heels. Massage your feet with sesame oil before going to bed for 15 minutes. In the morning rinse off with plain water. This is an effective and very simple way to prevent dry, rough and cracked feet.

Glycerin and Rose Water: Mix 3-4 drops of glycerin in 1 tbsp of rose water. Apply this on your feet before going to bed and don’t forget to wear socks so that the moisture stays locked. Glycerin acts as a perfect moisturizer and prevents cracked heels. Repeat this for 1 week to see results.

Raw Salt: Mix 3-4 tbsp raw salt in half bucket warm water and soak your feet in it. You can also add lemon juice for added benefits. After soaking for 10 minutes, scrub your feet gently with foot scrub. Raw salt acts as natural pedicure for your feet and it exfoliates perfectly. Do this at least 2-3 times in a month to prevent cracked dry heels.

Moisturize: Last tip would be to moisturize. It’s extremely essential to give moisture to feet. Always keep them hydrated by applying lotion during the day and even before you sleep.
